Paul Mayasich - Guitars & Vocals

“PK Mayo” – also known as Paul Kennedy Mayasich – started playing guitar as a young boy growing up outside the Mesabi Iron Range town of Eveleth, Minnesota. The seventh of eight children, Paul’s love for music was sparked by his older siblings’ eclectic musical tastes and growing vinyl collections.

In the late 1980s Paul moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and started jamming at a club called Red’s Roost, or “Blues Alley,” with such notables as Jack McDuff, Willie Walker, Big John Dickerson and Billy Holloman. He also worked with Al Rapone’s Zydeco Express in San Francisco, Bernard Allison and Alberta Adams while signed to Ron Levy’s Cannonball Record Label.

Paul’s natural musical talent on guitar, especially slide guitar, has garnered worldwide praise from colleagues and critics. Vintage Guitar and Blues Matters UK have drawn comparisons to the work of Duane Allman, Lowell George, Roy Buchanan, Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth. His rich vocals have been receiving as much attention as his guitar tone and melodic riffs.

PK Mayo is available to perform for festivals, theaters, clubs, private events, and session work.
